Pediatric Anesthesiologist
About the role
Our Pediatric Anesthesiologists at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) are part of a large and dynamic care team with over 60 faculty members, 30 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), 11 pediatric anesthesiology fellows, and anesthesiology residents from various programs. We perform approximately 35,000 to 40,000 procedures annually and are preparing to open a new patient tower in 2028.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert perioperative care for complex patients and cases across all surgical services.
- Participate in an established research and clinical mentorship program aimed at promoting academic advancement.
- Contribute to numerous ongoing research projects led by our faculty.
- Lead one of the nation’s largest and most sought-after pediatric anesthesia fellowships.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and support hospital-wide efforts.
- Facilitate educational programs including simulation boot camps, airway learning labs, and point-of-care ultrasound courses.
- Participate in the active DEI committee and related activities.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must hold a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of hospital policies, practices, and protocols, along with applicable regulations and guidelines.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and applications.
- Initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and electronic).
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients, and the public.
- Experience in researching and preparing comprehensive reports.
Qualifications
- Doctorate Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required.
- Board Certification in Medical Sub/Specialty required upon hire.
- DEA License required upon hire.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $36,279.00 - $678,760.00 annually. Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. Part-time positions may have adjusted salaries.
