Pediatric Allergist/Immunologist Physician

Position Highlights

• Full-time, employed position with an 80% clinical effort with 20% protected academic time
• Join a team of six Allergy/Immunology faculty members, two Pediatric Rheumatologists, 4 Allergy/Immunology fellows, specialized allergy/immunology nursing staff, social workers, asthma-focused advanced practice support, and an established SCID newborn screening program.
• Balanced clinical schedule with 6–7 half-day clinics per week
• Approximately 5-7 days of inpatient allergy/immunology/asthma consult service per month
• Shared home call responsibilities with no in-house call requirements
• Average weekend inpatient consult coverage is 1 every 4-5 weeks
• Patient populations include pediatric and adult patients with a broad spectrum of allergic and immunologic diseases
• Academic appointment with the Department of Pediatrics, Central Michigan University College of Medicine
• Additional opportunities for inter-institutional teaching and research collaboration with Michigan State University and Wayne State University School of Medicine

Candidate Requirements

• Board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics and/or American Board of Internal Medicine
• Fellowship training in Allergy/Immunology with board eligibility or board certification in the subspecialty
• Eligibility to obtain Michigan medical licensure
• Strong interest in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
• Interest in quality improvement, education, research, and program development is encouraged
• Experience or interest in food allergy and oral immunotherapy is welcomed
