About the role
Join a talented group of more than 90 Morrison Healthcare dietitians at the University of Virginia Health System, a level one trauma center. Dietitians play an integral role on multidisciplinary teams in both the 675-bed inpatient setting and over 35 outpatient clinics. This hybrid 40-hour/week role supports the Pediatric Inpatient Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition team and Adult Digestive Health Clinic, providing specialized medical nutrition therapy for patients with complex gastrointestinal and nutrition-related disorders. Common diagnoses include IBS/IBD, colitis, SIBO, gastroparesis, and food intolerances/allergies. The role includes assessing patients for disordered eating, working to prevent excessive restriction, and providing specialized nutrition support. Candidates are encouraged to pursue advanced certification such as CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician) within two years of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized medical nutrition therapy for pediatric and adult patients with gastrointestinal and nutrition-related disorders
- Assess patients for disordered eating and work to prevent excessive restriction
- Participate in research and quality improvement projects
- Host dietetic interns
- Pursue leadership and community service experiences
- Pursue advanced certifications such as CNSC within two years of hire
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
- Licensed Dietitian (or willing to obtain) in the state of practice as applicable
- Healthcare experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply
- Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligible

$60,000 - $90,000 based on experience
Schedule
Monday through Friday with some remote weekend coverage needed
