Pearson Saber Connection Supervision Paraeducator

About the Role

The Pearson Saber Connection Supervision Paraeducator works with preschool students in the Saber Connection program, before and after morning preschool. This position is available on non-school days at an assigned building, ensuring a safe, engaging, and high-quality experience for all participants.

This is a split shift position (7:30 am-9:15 am & 11:15 am-4:15 pm) with 6.75 hours available before and/or after school at Shakopee Community Education, approximately 175 work days starting fall of 2026.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with and supervise large and small groups of children in planned activities across settings such as classroom, cafeteria, gym, and playground.
• Work with children with a variety of needs.
• Assist with the implementation of daily activities.
• Supervise children during activities, meals, and transitions while maintaining staff-to-student ratios.
• Ensure children follow established rules and report concerns to the site coordinator.
• Create a warm and welcoming environment where all families feel welcome and safe.
• Document incidents or accidents on correct forms.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow all district policies.
• Participate in required staff training.
• Represent Shakopee Public Schools, Community Education, and Saber Connection in a positive manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in Community Education, School-Age Care, Early Childhood, or similar programs.
• Experience at a site level (preferred).
• Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive demeanor.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Working Conditions

Involves lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, sitting, and walking.

Pay & Benefits

• Compensation Range: Grade 2, $18.99 - $22.54 per hour, based on experience.
