Peace Corps Fellows/AmeriCorps Program
About the role
As part of their studies, AmeriCorps members will build community capacity (e.g., human and social capital) and assist with the implementation of local development projects, such as downtown revitalization, health education and outreach, leadership development, reduction of food insecurity, and environmentally sustainable projects. At the end of the first program year, members will be responsible for building the capacity of host sites by coordinating community-driven projects. Members will also leverage 250 volunteers engaged in the implementation of local community projects.
Half-time (HT), Quarter Time (QT), and Minimum Time (MT) slots are available. On average, members will serve between 10–20 hours per week for the duration of their assignments.
Responsibilities
- Assist host sites with volunteer recruitment and management.
- Support project implementation based on the unique needs and opportunities of each site and the skills/interests of each member.
- Serve between 10–20 hours per week at their assigned site, depending on slot type (HT, QT, MT).
