Position Summary
PE Teacher:
- Set up equipment prior to class.
- Prepare and implement lesson plans for PE classes and middle school PE elective.
- Establish and enforce rules of conduct.
- Research and order physical education and recess equipment.
- Plan, organize and coordinate field day; develop activities, set up activities and communicate schedule and needs to front office staff.
- Maintain student records following established procedures and practices.
- Prepare interim progress reports and report cards.
- Attend planning meetings, team meetings, staff meetings and data meetings.
- Maintain use and care of equipment, materials and facilities.
- Prepare lesson plans and materials for substitute teachers (create emergency lesson plans as needed).
- Knowledge of emergency plans for the school such as lockdown procedures and participation in fire drills.
Athletic Director:
- Provide leadership to all participants involved in St. Catherine’s school athletics.
- Adhere to the by-laws of the TCSAC (Triangle Catholic Schools Athletic Conference).
- Ensure all required paperwork required for students to participate is submitted and up to date.
- Encourage and maintain proper balance between athletics and academics by implementing student athlete policy to be created in coordination with school Administration.
- Schedule all practices and games, which includes securing locale, referees/officials.
- Proved team roster(s), schedule(s) and directions to school front office staff and school principal.
- Secure coaches, with input from school Administration, ensuring they meet requirements (criminal background check and safe environment training).
- Provide schedules and directions for coaches, ensuring appropriate and timely communication to both participants and parents/guardians.
- Maintain financial records and comply with allotted budget for athletic program.
- Provide up to date information to be posted on the school website and social media accounts.
- Provide equipment, first aid kits, AEDs and scorebooks to coaches.
- Delegate additional responsibilities to coaches, team volunteers and others pertaining to uniforms, equipment, forms and year-end sports banquet.
- Provide leadership for the Color Run event.
- Keep administration informed of the programs with frequent updates.
- Collaborate, as necessary, with other athletic directors/members of the TCSAC.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in physical education or related field.
- Employment is contingent upon the applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current NC licensure or an out of state equivalent.
