About the role

Operate a PD10 Machine to drive production piles/posts, ensuring piles are driven into the ground without damage to equipment or materials. Assist in the installation of various pile types, maintenance, greasing of piles, and operation of a skid steer.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate heavy equipment, including knowledge of equipment functions, running, navigating, detecting or assessing problems, and demonstrating mechanical aptitude.
  • Distribute, layout, assemble, and install various solar array components required for a solar energy farm.
  • Distribute and install piles and racking materials.
  • Assist with the placement of piles onto the field using a compact track loader prior to installation.
  • Remediate piles to meet tolerances.
  • Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
  • Communicate clearly, listen, and understand information through spoken words and sentences to ensure comprehension of job duties, safety regulations, and other situations requiring immediate response.
  • Travel to different jobsites on limited notice as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or Foreman.
  • Perform inspections and maintenance of assigned tools and equipment.
  • Ensure proper care and use of equipment and supplies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years or more of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety, working toward Wanzek’s Zero Injury principles.
  • Ability to work in internal and external environments with a flexible work schedule, including nights and/or weekends.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, engineering drawings, and procedure manuals.
  • Perform arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Knowledge and operation of various GPS systems.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Work within precise standards of accuracy; follow set procedures and standards; judge distances and slopes accurately; make decisions based on verifiable standards.
  • Working knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in structural fills, DOT, and other public and private entities.

Pay

$24.00 - $28.50 per hour, commensurate with experience.
