PD Central Sterile Tech I - Sterile Processing - 2nd Shift
About the role
The Central Sterile Tech is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department throughout the hospital and outlying clinics. This role also involves performing daily biological testing, charging, billing, and logging of services, as well as patient charges for the operating room (OR).
Responsibilities
- Decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment
- Performing daily biological testing
- Charging, billing, and logging of services
- Handling patient charges for the OR
- Participating on special projects and departmental and medical center-wide performance improvement projects as requested
Requirements
Successful completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology or 18 months relevant Sterile Processing experience.
Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology.
Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
