PCT PACU
About the Role
Utilizes basic hands-on computer knowledge. Demonstrates clinical competence in relevant areas of acute care nursing. Provides patient-centric customer service with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Floats between assignments as needed to provide comprehensive patient care. Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, and documents information accurately. Remains calm and focused during stressful and emotionally charged situations. Deals efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals. Applies knowledge of regulatory requirements to ensure compliance. Moves or lifts patients and equipment safely. Works flexible hours, including rotating call and weekends. Other duties as assigned.
Schedule
Shift: Day. 4-10's, 08:00-18:30.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good oral, written, and communication skills. [Required]
- Must be able to continuously prioritize multiple duties. [Required]
- Must be familiar with medical terminology. [Required]
- Communication, interpersonal, and basic computer skills required. [Required]
- Employee conduct must reflect professional standards as expected in a healthcare setting. [Required]
- Completion of basic arrhythmias identification course in orientation. [Required]
- Unit specific competency must be met per the orientation pathway. [Required]
- Knowledge of computerized documentation systems such as Cerner is preferred.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
Education
High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Work Experience
1+ year of applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]
- Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Preferred]
- Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Preferred]
- Certified Health Unit Coordinator (CHUC) [Preferred]
