PCT Health Unit Coordinator Nights

Position

We are looking for candidates who can commit to full-time hours, working three days per week with rotating weekends, and who have flexibility in their availability. This role also requires a minimum of one full week of training.

Shift

Full-time Nights - 3 12-hour shifts with Rotating Weekends. Opportunities available in the following departments: Medical Surgical, ICU, IMCU, Telemetry

Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician handles various duties under a licensed nurse's supervision. Helps deliver patient care and meet family needs. Follows the care plan, considering the patient's age and development stage.

What Can You Expect to Do as a Patient Care Tech?

• Collections and records patient data, including vital signs.
• Aids patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring.
• Responds to call lights and conducts regular patient rounds.
• Provides personal hygiene care and assists with patient clean-up.
• Adheres to Baylor Scott & White policies and procedures.
• Performs glucose monitoring and collects specimens as requested.
• Will be required to directly support multiple patients during each shift.

Other Duties That May Be Included

• Tracks and reports quality data for the unit.
• Completes and maintains files and forms for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Sets up phones and location devices to appropriate staff members.
• Maintains inventory, requisitions, and stocks supplies and equipment in the work area.
• Greets visitors and provides assistance.
• Answers telephones and communicates with the nursing team and medical staff using pagers, and cell phones, based on department needs.

Qualifications

• Education: H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
• Experience: Less than 1 Year of Experience
• Certification/License/Registration: Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
