PCGS Grader
Job Summary
PCGS is seeking a coin grader to join our team. This role involves authenticating and grading coins, improving knowledge and skill through numismatic research, and maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Review, authenticate, and assess the condition of coins for grading and encapsulation
- Improve knowledge and skill with experience and numismatic research
- Maintain individual PCGS Grading production goals
- Maintain quality of grading product
- Complete other coin processing/evaluation duties as assigned by leaders in the grading room
Requirements
- Firsthand knowledge of coins
- Ability to identify coins and associated varieties including counterfeit detection
- Possess a solid and high degree of personal education in numismatics
- Up to date on the latest coin alteration techniques and grading issues in order to perform grading duties
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Strong organization and communication skills to achieve production goals and maximize productivity
- Able to work in a positive team environment
- Detail oriented and able to focus over long stretches of time
Physical Requirements
- Computer Use: Typing, mouse work, and sitting and looking at a computer potentially for long periods of time
- Hand Use: Regular hand use for various tasks
- Hearing Requirements: Ability to hear alarms, signals, and verbal instructions
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to routinely lift, carry, and move materials up to 55 pounds
- Sitting or Standing: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Visual Requirements: Using vision aiding devices, as well as sitting in dark or dimly lit rooms with soft desk lighting
Benefits
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $100,000. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.
