About the role
This is a contract position: fully remote, asynchronous, and designed to fit around your existing work. Compensation is $115–$145/hr depending on your experience. Projects draw directly on your professional experience and the software you are familiar with. New opportunities become available as projects launch.
Responsibilities
- Schematic capture
- PCB layout & routing
- Design for manufacturing (DFM)
- Fabrication/assembly outputs (Gerbers, BOMs)
- Take boards from schematic through layout to fabrication outputs
Requirements
- You have 2+ years of professional experience in a relevant role (freelance, agency, or in-house).
- You have deep hands-on fluency with the professional software of your field.
- You can clearly explain your work: what you make, how you make it, and how you judge quality.
- You communicate reliably in asynchronous settings.
Skills
Deep hands-on experience with a professional PCB toolchain is required — for example KiCad, Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro (or OrCAD), or Siemens Xpedition. The work centers on schematic capture and multilayer PCB layout. Medical-device or other regulated-hardware experience is a plus.
Pay
$115–$145/hr depending on your experience.
