PCB Assembler
About the role
As a member of the Applied Technology department at Motorola Solutions, you will be responsible for basic printed circuit board assembly, rework, and modification tasks. You will follow and use Work Instructions and Procedures, assemble products of varying complexity, perform visual inspections of your own work, maintain good house-keeping, adhere to department policies, and use a variety of equipment and tools.
Responsibilities
- Follow and use Work Instructions and Procedures
- Assemble product of varying degrees of complexity
- Perform visual inspection of their own assembly work
- Maintain good house-keeping, safety, security, and adhere to Department policies and procedures
- Work independently, under minimal supervision
- Use numerous types of equipment and assembly tools, including microscopes, soldering irons, tweezers, calipers, picks, scalpels, hot plates, epoxies, etc.
- Sit at a microscope for extended periods
- Work closely with designers, engineers, and quality personnel
- Complete IPC certification within 3 months of hire (training will be provided), or have current certification
- Have basic computer skills
- Have knowledge of basic electronics (a plus)
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED and 3+ years of relevant work experience
- The ability to demonstrate printed circuit board assembly experience to include soldering of surface mount, through-hole, and wire technology
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contractors
Qualifications
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently, under minimal supervision
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of basic electronics (a plus)
