PCA - Float - Part Time - Night

Facility: Dayton Children's - Main Campus; Department: Float & Logistics; Schedule: Part time; Hours: 24

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse in completion of patient care activities, considering patient’s developmental levels.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, accept delegated tasks, ask questions, and report patient information as indicated.
• Handle patient information appropriately, maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
• Comply with the safety management program to provide a hazard‑free environment and reduce injury risk.
• Be knowledgeable about and responsive to the hospital’s mission.
• Promote a patient‑ and family‑experience‑oriented environment and act as a change agent to meet changing census and needs of internal and external customers.
• Measure and record vital signs, intake, and output.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide safe transportation and environment for patients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• PCA training or PCA experience, or active enrollment in a health‑care related education program required.
• 1‑2 years of STNA experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• CPR certification preferred at hire; must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.
