Pc Technician Support

About the role

Seeking a Power & Performance Tester to support a key initiative focused on improving software guidance and ensuring optimal battery performance across our clients' PC platforms. This role is essential in validating new software releases, identifying potential impacts on power consumption, and helping maintain the performance and reliability standards expected by our clients. This is a contract, hybrid position based in Spring, TX.

Skills

• Hardware & System Performance Knowledge: strong understanding of PC hardware, system behavior, and performance characteristics, often gained through PC building, gaming, or enthusiast‑level tinkering; helps interpret how software changes affect real‑world power and battery performance.
• Software Testing & Analytical Troubleshooting: ability to audit software releases, identify anomalies in battery life or performance, run crosschecks, and dig deeper than basic checklists; critical thinking and root‑cause analysis essential.
• Communication & Issue Reporting

Responsibilities

• Evaluate Software Releases: support the software release cycle by auditing new builds, verifying stability, and ensuring readiness for scheduled shipment deadlines.
• Battery Life Analysis: test and identify any software‑related factors that could negatively impact battery life or overall power performance.
• New Software Solution Validation: work with new technology inputs from the TIO team, assessing how upcoming software solutions may affect client device power behavior.
• Cross‑Functional Checks: conduct crosschecks to ensure new software integrations do not conflict with existing system components or degrade performance.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour.
