We are looking for a PC Technician to provide hands-on technical support for students, faculty, and staff in a Higher Education environment in Brooklyn, New York. This is a Contract position.
Responsibilities
- Deliver first-line desktop support for end users by diagnosing and resolving common hardware, software, and access-related issues.
- Support both Windows and macOS devices, including troubleshooting operating system problems and user-specific technical concerns.
- Help users connect to campus Wi-Fi and ensure reliable access to network resources on supported devices.
- Assist with the installation and setup of Microsoft Office and other standard applications required for daily use.
- Configure and troubleshoot Pharos printing software so users can print successfully from approved workstations and devices.
- Perform account support tasks such as password resets, basic account setup, and other routine access requests.
- Provide hands-on assistance with computer hardware, peripheral connections, and cable installation as needed.
- Support devices and equipment from manufacturers such as Dell and Apple while maintaining a detail-oriented customer service approach.
Requirements
- Prior experience providing end-user or desktop support in a technical service environment.
- Working knowledge of both Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Familiarity with computer hardware, associated peripherals, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to install, configure, and support standard productivity software, including Microsoft Office.
- Experience assisting users with wireless connectivity, login issues, and account-related requests.
- Comfortable supporting Dell systems, Apple devices, and related hardware components.
- Basic understanding of cable installation and physical workstation setup.
- Strong communication skills and a service-oriented approach to resolving technical issues.
