About the role
Provide PC workstation support to the computer user population. Assume responsibility for the installation and correction of hardware and software problems at the end-user level. Ensures adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No patient care assignment.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the Hospital’s hardware and software standardization efforts as appropriate and assigned.
- Responsible for the installation and implementation of PC and Workstation systems.
- Assist PC and Workstation users with hardware, software, and network problems.
- Responsible for assisting in the implementation of the client side of PC Client/Server applications.
- Prepare documentation for computer programs modified and developed.
- Completely disassemble and reassemble PC hardware with minimal assistance.
- Provide assistance to IT Analysts in finding suitable resolutions to hardware and software problems.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of department facilities, equipment, and supplies.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings, and workshops.
Requirements
- Vocational or Technical education (essential); Bachelor’s Degree (nonessential).
- Education specialization: Related – Post High School (essential).
- 2 years of directly related experience in computer science, electronics, or a related field (essential); 3 years (nonessential).
Physical Conditions
- Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.
- Working conditions: Minor Hazard – physical risks, dirt, dust, fumes, noise.
- Tuberculosis testing is completed upon hire and additionally as required.
