About the role

The Northrop Grumman CIDO Classified Solutions team is seeking a PC Network Support Technician to support information system lifecycle activities. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time at our Melbourne, FL location.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits good communication skills, an energetic approach, and patience with customers.
  • Establishes and maintains high levels of customer satisfaction according to defined objectives while adhering to established policies.
  • Under supervision, performs the following tasks as assigned.
  • Create and manage tickets for all support incidents, reviewing trouble ticket queue, ensuring timely updates, accurate documentation, and compliance to resolve tickets within established guidelines.
  • Perform relocation of workstations and associated equipment for individual users or teams between campus buildings, installing and configuring equipment so operations resume with minimal disruption.
  • Provide basic diagnostics, identify, isolate, and analyze problems utilizing historical records.
  • Resolve technical problems and answer queries by telephone, in support of internal and/or outside customer computer hardware, software, network, and telecommunications systems.
  • Use Active Directory or similar tools to create and unlock user/computer account, perform password resets, following all security policies and procedures.
  • Aid with paperwork and tasks to meet security requirements, adhering to all security regulations for installing, maintaining, and retiring PCs as related to hardware/software, and collaborate with Security to resolve classified data spillage incidents.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the asset tracking system for all hardware assets (PCs, monitors, phones, peripherals, etc.) and update status whenever equipment is deployed, moved, repaired, or retired.
  • Possess a technical understanding of service desk and IT Operations fundamentals.
  • Participate in new installations, testing, and special projects as needed.
  • Spend significant portions of the day away from the desk supporting users and moving equipment.
  • Raise issues that require senior level attention or involvement.
  • Lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • High School diploma (or equivalent) and 2 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate’s degree and 0 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Security+ (or greater) certification.
  • A current US Government Secret level security clearance (at a minimum) with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Top Secret clearance in order to be considered.
  • The ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment.

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications for Level 2: High School diploma (or equivalent) and 2 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate’s degree and 0 years of relevant experience is required. Must have a Security+ (or greater) certification. Candidates must have a current US Government Secret level security clearance (at a minimum) with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Top Secret clearance in order to be considered. Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment. Experience in Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Product Suites, and remote deployment methods.
  • Basic Qualifications for Level 3: High School diploma (or equivalent) and 4 years of relevant experience; OR an Associates degree and 2 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree and 0 years of relevant experience. Must have a Security+ (or greater) certification. Candidates must have a current US Government Secret level security clearance (at a minimum) with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Top Secret clearance in order to be considered. Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment. Experience in Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Product Suites, and remote deployment methods.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s degree, 3 years of experience with IT related hardware in a classified environment, Active Top Secret, SCI, SAP/SAR access, or Polygraph, Current HW and/or SW Vendor Certifications, Proficiency in remote administration and troubleshooting of desktop PCs, via SCCM or PowerShell, Experience supporting a VMWare VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) with thin clients, Experience with Active Directory, configuring user and computer accounts, Operating System Cross-platform awareness ((i.e. two or more: Windows, Linux, Solaris, OSX, UNIX, etc.), Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA).
