PBX Operator Part time

Responsibilities

• Contacts key personnel after hours as needed.
• Maintains an operational call log of all activities, requests, and issues.
• Cultivates accurate knowledge of hospital disaster codes and announces them efficiently according to procedure.
• Projects a positive and helpful demeanor while working with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a courteous and professional manner when answering calls.
• Demonstrates skill and proficiency when executing overhead announcements.
• Forwards calls promptly to proper departments, patient rooms, or staff as necessary.
• Understands and responds to all codes and alarm systems.
• Updates and maintains all on-call lists for staff when notified of changes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• 1+ experience in switchboard operations [Required]
• Basic understanding of numerous computer systems [Required]
• Must be proficient in the English language [Required]
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite [Required]
• Ability to work with attention to detail in reading, writing, and computer tasks [Required]
• Organizational and interpersonal skills [Required]
• Ability to answer calls promptly, courteously, and accurately [Required]
• Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions [Required]
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays [Required]
• Ability and willingness to adapt to change [Required]
• Clear and precise speaking abilities [Required]

Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively [Required]
• Customer service skills [Required]
• Knowledge of basic insurance concepts [Preferred]
• Bi-lingual abilities [Preferred]

Pay

Pay Range $19.00 - $28.50
