Payroll Technician

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, monitor, and process all payroll related documentation for weekly payroll processing for 200+ employees.
  • Accurately maintain and monitor timecards, administer and enter absences, review for missed meals.
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll documentation in accordance with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Request manual and termination checks.
  • Research and respond to payroll inquiries.
  • Maintain payroll records and reports.
  • Absorb and assist with new hire orientations when needed.
  • Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of verifiable Payroll processing experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with UKG, ADP, Aspire or another well-known software.
  • Strong understanding of Meal & Rest Breaks for California.
  • Strong understanding of California and Federal leave laws.
  • Strong understanding of State of California and Federal Wage & Hour Laws.
  • Highly skilled in computer systems.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and unplanned tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail with outstanding organization and prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivated and driven to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Professional demeanor with a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum typing speed of 50+ WPM.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Work effectively with diverse personalities and teams.
  • Experience with Certified Payroll a plus.
  • Self-motivated, professional etiquette and confidentiality a must.
  • Strong work ethic and time management.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
