Our client is seeking a Payroll Tax Analyst to join their growing team in Nashville, TN. This role will play a critical part in ensuring payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across a multi-entity organization.

The ideal candidate will bring strong payroll tax expertise, experience managing complex payroll processes across multiple states and facilities, and a collaborative mindset focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls across multiple entities, including off-cycle payrolls, while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Review payroll reports, analyze discrepancies, and resolve payroll-related issues in a timely manner.
- Enter and manage payroll deductions, garnishments, child support orders, and tax levies within the payroll system.
- Support payroll tax compliance activities, including tax reconciliations, tax payments, quarterly and annual filings, and year-end processing.
- Create ad hoc payroll reports and analyses to support business and operational needs.
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, and external auditors to provide payroll-related information and documentation.
- Collaborate with payroll and integrations teams during acquisitions, system conversions, and onboarding of new entities.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in special projects to enhance payroll operations.
Requirements
- Experience processing multi-state, multi-entity payroll, including payroll tax reconciliations, tax payments, and regulatory filings.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, FLSA requirements, employment laws, and payroll compliance best practices.
- Experience with payroll system implementations, conversions, or integrations.
- Workday Payroll experience strongly preferred; familiarity with ADP SmartCompliance is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and reconcile payroll data.
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- CPP Certification preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and customer service mindset.
Pay
$27.00–$38.50 per hour, based on experience.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
