Payroll Specialist (UKG Ready Payroll Platform)
Tony LaMartina Plumbing Company is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support our payroll and accounting functions. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, follows through on commitments, enjoys being part of a team, and is always looking for ways to learn and improve. The position may be structured as part-time or fractional, depending on the experience and availability of the right candidate.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule
- Review employee hours, pay rates, deductions, reimbursements, and other payroll information
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll records
- Process new hires, terminations, wage changes, deductions, and other payroll changes
- Assist with payroll tax reporting and compliance
- Reconcile payroll reports and proactively identify and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain PTO, sick time, and other payroll-related records
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation
- Support general accounting and bookkeeping functions as needed
- Respond to employee and management payroll questions professionally and promptly
- Continually look for opportunities to improve payroll processes, accuracy, and efficiency
Requirements
- Previous payroll processing experience
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of the team
- Dependability and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general accounting software
Preferred Qualifications
- UKG Ready experience
- QuickBooks Desktop experience
- Experience with payroll reporting, payroll taxes, and reconciliations
- Bookkeeping or general accounting experience
