Payroll Specialist (Senior Level)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to support a company focused on workforce operations and compliance within a professional services and government contracting environment. This position is fully onsite in Ashburn, VA.

Join a mission-driven team where accuracy and compliance directly support employees and critical business operations. The Payroll Specialist will ensure accurate payroll processing, timekeeping compliance, and employee payroll support across a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

• Execute bi-weekly payroll processing, including hours worked, leave balances, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
• Review and validate employee timesheets to ensure compliance with company policies and federal labor requirements.
• Research and resolve payroll, leave, and timekeeping discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Provide employees with guidance on payroll procedures, policies, and payroll system usage.
• Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, audit documentation, and maintain accurate payroll records.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with payroll administration and payroll processing.
• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom, or Deltek Costpoint.
• Knowledge of FLSA regulations, PTO accruals, federal labor standards, and multi-state payroll requirements.

Pay

Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 depending on experience.
