About the role
The Payroll Specialist II processes end-to-end multi-state payrolls for corporate and on-site property employees using UKG Pro and NOVAtime. Strict confidentiality is required.
Responsibilities
- Assist Payroll Supervisor in providing resources, information, and assistance to employees regarding biweekly payroll administration and general inquiries.
- Process employee job, rate, and allocation changes.
- Set up timesheet profiles for new employees.
- Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for multi-site and multi-state employees using UKG Pro.
- Ensure timely funding of payroll.
- Process industry-specific compensation, including leasing commissions and performance incentives.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local labor and tax laws.
- Manage wage garnishments, tax levies, and child support orders in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Understand gross-to-net payroll and tax reports (e.g., 941s, SUTA, FUTA).
- Reconcile monthly bank statements.
- Process biweekly payments of 401K fund/loan payments.
- Handle verification of employment (VOE) requests from external sources.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding paychecks, time tracking, and tax withholding.
- Assist employees in updating profiles through self-service and password management.
- Perform general administrative duties, including filing, responding to phone requests, and completing special projects, surveys, and statistical reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors to facilitate effective company operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of progressive payroll processing experience, ideally within the property management industry.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) designation a plus.
- Strong understanding of multi-state payroll laws, FLSA regulations, and taxation.
- Hands-on experience with UKG and NOVAtime.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including proficiency with complex formulas.
- Solid math skills for routine calculations and data entry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Approachable, customer-focused demeanor while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative.
- Ability to multi-task and perform within strict time limits.

Pay
$70,000–$80,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
