About the role
The Parking Spot is hiring a Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll team in Chicago. This newly created role offers exposure to payroll, audits, and reconciliation processes for an organization with 2,000+ employees in a multistate environment.
Responsibilities
- Process and issue weekly payroll, ensuring timely and accurate updates, adjustments, and compliance with internal policies
- Review and audit payroll data in UKG, investigate discrepancies, calculate retroactive payments, and coordinate with management to resolve issues
- Audit and approve timecard changes in the Workforce Management system; monitor timesheet and leave request status, and follow up on missing or unapproved entries
- Generate payroll reports, conduct regular data audits, and support internal and external reporting needs
- Handle post-payroll duties, including assembling the general ledger report, storing payroll registers, and communicating with Controller and Finance partners
- Manage the payroll inbox by responding to administrative tasks and requests, including resetting passwords, reviewing data accuracy, and ensuring proper deductions
- Oversee uncashed check and rapid pay card processes
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience processing payroll with an hourly workforce
- At least 1 year of experience with UKG Pro and Workforce Management
- Detail-oriented with respect to payroll and HR data
- Strong organizational skills and follow-through
- Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to assist a large employee base
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload in a busy environment
