Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for approximately 300–500 employees across multiple locations using payroll and HRIS systems.
- Partner with managers and employees to gather payroll information and ensure timely, accurate payroll processing.
- Coordinate pre-employment activities, including background screenings, onboarding, new hire paperwork, and orientation programs.
- Prepare and process employee separation and termination documentation.
- Maintain accurate and compliant employee records, including personnel files, I-9s, benefits documentation, garnishments, and child support orders.
- Reconcile invoices for employee benefit plans, including group health insurance programs (HSA experience is a plus).
- Administer 401(k) activities, including contributions, loan processing, deductions, earnings updates, and payroll file transmission.
- Support recruiting efforts by managing resumes, coordinating interviews, and scheduling orientations.
- Track and facilitate employee 90-day performance reviews.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and HR procedures.
- Assist with leave of absence (LOA), disability, and accommodation processes.
- Support employee relations activities, including disciplinary actions and related documentation.
- Provide HR and administrative support across multiple locations.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience processing payroll and supporting core HR functions.
- Working knowledge of payroll systems, employee records management, confidentiality requirements, and payroll tax practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with employees ranging from production staff to executive leadership.
- Ability to move between facilities as needed and perform occasional bending, crouching, stair climbing, and lifting up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- English language proficiency required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience administering benefits, HSAs, 401(k) plans, and leave management programs.
- Manufacturing or multi-location HR/payroll experience preferred.
- Experience supporting payroll populations of 300+ employees.
