Payroll Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Visalia, California. This is a Contract-to-permanent opportunity where you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll operations, compliance, and benefits coordination, particularly within California labor laws.

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll for a multi-state workforce, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Utilize Paycom system for timely and efficient payroll management.
• Handle payroll-related deductions, including benefits contributions and tax withholdings.
• Collaborate with HR to manage onboarding processes and ensure seamless integration of new employees into payroll systems.
• Ensure compliance with California labor laws, addressing any payroll-related issues promptly.
• Coordinate benefits payroll, including tracking and reporting contributions.
• Support audits and reporting requirements related to payroll and benefits.
• Assist with payroll adjustments, corrections, and inquiries from employees.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and best practices.
• Communicate effectively with team members and employees to address payroll concerns.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing.
• Proficiency in Paycom payroll software systems.
• Strong understanding of California labor laws and HR compliance.
• Experience in managing payroll deductions and benefits coordination.
• Ability to handle multi-state payroll operations efficiently.
• Familiarity with onboarding processes and integration into payroll systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
