About the Opportunity

The Payroll Specialist role is responsible for managing payroll-related activities with accuracy and confidentiality. This position supports the consistency and integrity of payroll processing across the organization, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and addressing employee payroll inquiries. The role contributes to the organization by maintaining accurate payroll records and timely reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Review and audit new hire and departure data to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Update employee payroll records for tax status and direct deposit changes.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and calculate pay for contract personnel.
  • Process off-cycle paychecks, including retroactive increases and final payments.
  • Manage involuntary deductions such as wage levies or garnishments.
  • Handle requests for employment verification.
  • Complete union and certified payroll reports promptly.
  • Comply with and enforce company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience with payroll applications; DayForce preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state wage and tax laws related to payroll.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective problem-solving and prioritization skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4 to 6 years of payroll experience.
  • No sponsorship available for this position.

Pay Range and Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 depending on experience.
  • Eligible for an annual performance-based bonus subject to individual and company performance.
