Payroll Specialist

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support a Contract assignment in Jeffersontown, Kentucky. This role will manage end-to-end payroll operations for a large employee population, ensuring timely and accurate pay across multiple states. The ideal candidate brings strong payroll expertise, hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now, and a careful approach to compliance and record accuracy. Responsibilities: • Process full-cycle payroll for a workforce of more than 500 employees while maintaining accuracy and meeting established deadlines. • Administer multi-state payroll activities, applying appropriate wage, tax, and deduction rules across jurisdictions. • Use ADP Workforce Now to enter, review, and validate payroll data, employee updates, and recurring changes. • Audit payroll registers, earnings, withholdings, and benefit deductions to identify and correct discrepancies before final submission. • Partner with HR, finance, and management to resolve payroll questions, investigate variances, and support employee pay inquiries. • Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with company standards and applicable regulatory requirements. • Support payroll-related reporting, reconciliations, and other operational tasks tied to ongoing payroll processing needs. • Proven experience handling full-cycle payroll from data review through final processing and post-payroll reconciliation. • Background managing payroll for employees working in multiple states with a solid understanding of related compliance considerations. • Hands-on proficiency with ADP Workforce Now in a payroll environment. • Experience processing payroll for large organizations with employee counts exceeding 500. • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under recurring deadlines. • Effective communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams. • Knowledge of payroll practices, deductions, taxation, and recordkeeping requirements.
