We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support accurate and timely payroll operations for a multi-state workforce based in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for someone who brings strong end-to-end payroll experience, enjoys working through complex earnings calculations, and can manage multiple pay schedules with precision.
Responsibilities
- Manage complete payroll processing for employees across several states, ensuring each pay cycle is completed accurately and on schedule.
- Administer payroll for approximately 100+ employees across weekly and biweekly schedules with different pay timing structures.
- Review, calculate, and validate specialized driver compensation, including trip-based earnings, mileage-based pay, and terminal-specific overtime or hourly rules.
- Reconcile payroll data submitted from field locations and resolve discrepancies before finalizing payroll.
- Enter and verify manual adjustments such as corrections, supplemental payments, deductions, and other payroll updates within the payroll system.
- Use ADP Workforce Now or a similar enterprise platform to process payroll transactions, maintain records, and support reporting needs.
- Ensure payroll activities align with applicable multi-state wage and hour requirements in a primarily non-union environment.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to answer payroll-related questions and support ongoing improvements to payroll accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience handling full-cycle payroll from data review through final reconciliation.
- Background processing payroll for employees working in multiple states with varying pay rules and compliance considerations.
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now or another enterprise payroll system such as Dayforce, Paylocity, or Paycom.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent pay groups and keep deadlines organized in a high-volume setting.
- Strong understanding of payroll calculations, including overtime, special earnings, deductions, and manual adjustments.
- Experience supporting payroll populations of 100 or more employees; experience in larger-volume environments is preferred.
- High attention to detail with the ability to investigate variances and correct payroll issues efficiently.
