Payroll Specialist

Our client is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support accurate, compliant payroll processing and payroll tax administration across a multi-state workforce. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable handling confidential information with discretion. This is a hybrid position based in Fairfield County, CT. Payroll Specialist’s Responsibilities And Duties Support biweekly payroll processing, including review and validation of earnings, deductions, taxes, and timekeeping dataProcess off-cycle payrolls, adjustments, manual payments, and payroll correctionsReview federal, state, and local tax setup and withholdings, and research and resolve tax notices, agency inquiries, and discrepanciesCoordinate with payroll vendors and tax providers on filings, quarterly and annual reporting, and W-2 processingAdminister payroll deductions for state paid family leave, paid medical leave, disability, and other mandated programsPerform reconciliations for taxes, wages, deductions, and general ledger postings, and support month-end, year-end, and audit activities Payroll Specialist’s Qualifications And Skills At least 3 years of payroll experience with significant responsibility for payroll taxation and complianceDemonstrated experience processing multi-state payrollStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulationsUnderstanding of wage garnishments, tax levies, and other statutory deductionsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification and experience with UKG Pro, Dayforce, or Tenrox are a plus RightClick is an equal opportunity employer who agrees not to discriminate against any employee or job applicant irrespective of race, color, creed, alienage, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, gender (including gender identity), marital status, sexual orientation, citizenship or any other characteristic protected by law.
