OPTI STAFFING GROUP IS HIRING! Opening: Payroll Specialist City: Clackamas, OR Pay: $31-$36/hr Schedule: Monday-Friday, Full-Time | On-Site WHO THEY ARE: Our client is a well-established, family-owned commercial flooring contractor that has been serving Oregon and Washington since the late 1970s. Their work can be found throughout schools, hospitals, offices, gymnasiums, theaters, and other commercial spaces. This is a smaller, close-knit office environment where you’ll work directly with the HR and Payroll Manager and ownership. This position plays an important role in keeping payroll accurate, compliant, and on schedule while also supporting day-to-day HR functions. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Process weekly, monthly, and off-cycle payroll for field and office employees across Oregon, Washington, and CaliforniaImport and audit timekeeping data, verifying job codes, classifications, and hours before payroll is processedPrepare weekly certified payroll reports for public works projectsComplete WH-347 reporting and submit certified payroll through LCPtracker and other required systemsHandle certified payroll reporting through Oregon BOLI, Washington L&I, and California DIR when requiredApply appropriate prevailing wage rates, classifications, fringe benefits, and applicable differentialsReconcile payroll against the general ledger and job costs and research discrepanciesAssist with multi-state payroll tax filings and depositsMaintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, rate changes, deductions, garnishments, and benefits electionsSupport payroll tax and prevailing wage auditsTrack certified payroll and compliance documentation from subcontractorsAssist with onboarding paperwork, I-9 verification, benefits enrollment, and employment verificationsRespond to employee questions regarding payroll, hours worked, and benefitsMaintain confidentiality when handling employee and compensation information WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU: $31-$36 per hourMedical, dental, and vision insurancePaid time offRetirement planPaid holidays and vacation timeLong-term incentive planStable, long-standing family-owned companyOpportunity to expand your experience with prevailing wage and certified payrollDirect exposure to the HR and Payroll Manager and company ownership WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE: Minimum 2 years of full-cycle payroll processing experienceExperience working in a deadline-driven payroll environmentExperience using an ERP or payroll systemStrong Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tablesExperience with Outlook and Adobe AcrobatAccurate data entry and 10-key skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to identify payroll discrepanciesClear written and verbal communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively with employees regarding time worked and payroll questionsAbility to work independently while contributing to a small team PREFERRED: Certified payroll or prevailing wage experienceDavis-Bacon or state prevailing wage experienceExperience with LCPtracker, Oregon BOLI, Washington L&I, or California DIR reportingMulti-state payroll experience, particularly Oregon, Washington, and CaliforniaAcumatica or similar construction ERP experience, such as Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint Vista, or FoundationConstruction or multi-state hourly workforce experience Next Steps: Click "Apply" or reach us directly Isabel Jimenez (360) 553-7221 ijimenez@optistaffing.com Keyshawn Thomas (360) 553-7218 kthomas@optistaffing.com
