Payroll Specialist

About the role

We are seeking motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented candidates with previous payroll experience to join our dynamic, high-volume, weekly-processing team. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution, and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations and in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley standards. Responsibilities

• Prepare, document, distribute, and reconcile payroll accurately.
• Administer the payroll system in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Sarbanes-Oxley standards.
• Apply working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding payroll.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with internal and external customers.
• Maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
• Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Requirements

• Associate degree in business administration or accounting (or equivalent working knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping processes).
• 2 years of experience in payroll.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with certified payroll.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certificate.

Skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Adobe PDF.
• Accurate punctuation, spelling, and grammar.

Pay

Wage range: $28 - $30 hourly.
