Payroll Specialist

Reporting to the CFO, this role processes payroll for all union employees on a weekly basis and handles related payroll and accounting tasks. Integrated Facility Services is a leading mechanical contractor in Missouri, with operations in the St. Louis metropolitan area and mid-Missouri. This position is based in our Fenton, MO office. IFS has been in business since 1966 and is 100% employee-owned.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly (in-house) payroll for union employees, including compliance with prevailing wage
• Review and reconcile the payroll edit report against timesheets
• Resolve payroll discrepancies
• Balance payroll taxes with General Ledger
• Pay/file federal, state, and city taxes weekly
• File quarterly payroll tax
• Process Direct Deposits with bank
• Generate and distribute Annual W-2s
• Create monthly union reports for multiple unions
• Process wage attachments (child support orders, garnishments, levies)
• Balance fringe benefits
• Process several specific reports needed in the department daily, weekly, and monthly
• Submit monthly union hours to Department of Labor for Prevailing Wage
• Submit weekly union hours to various agencies
• Assist in accounting as needed

Requirements

• Working knowledge of payroll/accounting
• Previous payroll/accounting experience, including 3+ years of payroll experience
• Excellent computer skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Punctual, dependable, and excellent attendance habits
• Honesty, accuracy, attention to detail, and good judgment
• Ability to keep payroll/accounting information confidential
