Payroll Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, service-minded professional to join our growing Finance team as a Payroll Specialist. In this role, you will process accurate and timely payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees across multiple states, partner with the Corporate Payroll Manager, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees across multiple states.
• Partner with the Corporate Payroll Manager to ensure payroll is completed efficiently and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain payroll records, PTO balances, garnishments, and employee payroll data with exceptional accuracy.
• Assist with payroll reporting, audits, year-end processing, and benefits reconciliations.
• Help maintain the integrity of our payroll and HRIS systems while identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Perform quality checks to ensure payroll and benefits information is accurate and complete.
• Support payroll-related projects and provide outstanding internal customer service to employees across the organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of payroll processing experience supporting a 100+ employee organization.
• Experience processing multi-state payroll and working within an HRIS/payroll system.
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a natural auditing mindset.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent payroll experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
