About the role
You will play a critical role in ensuring our employee-owners are paid accurately and on time. You will support payroll processing, certified payroll requirements, payroll records, and employee payroll questions with accuracy, confidentiality, and excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for applicable projects.
- Review timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies with employees, supervisors, and project teams.
- Maintain payroll records and employee payroll data while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
- Assist with payroll tax reporting, garnishments, deductions, and other payroll-related transactions.
- Respond to employee payroll questions and provide timely, service-oriented support.
- Serve as backup support for payroll-related systems and processes.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Human Resources, and project teams to improve payroll accuracy and efficiency.
- Aid in additional accounting and administrative functions as needed.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of payroll administration experience preferred.
- Certified payroll experience is preferred.
- Experience in construction, union payroll, or multi-state payroll environments is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and applicable regulations.
- Strong data entry and numerical accuracy skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to identify discrepancies, perform research, and resolve issues effectively.
- Experience with Viewpoint or similar payroll/accounting software is preferred.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Skills
