About the role

We are seeking a temporary detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our HR team. You will be responsible for processing payroll for approximately 3500+ employees at the Fashion Nova DC. The schedule is Thursday-Tuesday, 3:30 PM-12:00 AM.

Responsibilities

  • Work with new hires to complete new hire paperwork and enrollment in time clock for hourly employees.
  • Accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll processing for 3500+ employees using ADP Workforce Now platform for non-exempt employees.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as federal / state payroll laws and regulations.
  • Work with managers to ensure employee payroll hours are submitted accurately and approved on a timely basis every pay period, by regularly reviewing data within the time clock system.
  • Follow up with managers and employees if there are discrepancies on payroll time or information.
  • Communicate effectively in a manner that promotes trust and cooperation.
  • Maintain employee records and data including status changes, schedule updates, pay rate changes, etc.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in processing payroll.
  • Experience in benefits is nice, but not required – we can teach you that!
  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now, ADP Workforce Manager, ADP Onboarding and Time clock and/or similar payroll platforms
  • High degree of accuracy and detail orientation required
  • Proficient in MS Office with strong Excel skills
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material and information
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Bi-lingual Spanish is required

  • Sitting/Standing: Will be required to sit for extended periods while working at a desk, using a computer, and attending virtual meetings. Occasional standing may be required during in-person meetings or when visiting different departments.
  • Walking: The role may require walking through the warehouse or office space to engage with associates, observe operations, or attend team meetings.
  • Typing and Computer Use: Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse for email correspondence, data entry, and accessing software.
  • Communication: Clear verbal communication is necessary, including speaking with employees in person, on the phone, or via video conferencing. Active listening skills are required to understand employee concerns and provide effective support.
  • Light Lifting: Occasionally it may be required to lift or move items such as files, small office equipment, or boxes up to 15 pounds when assisting with department-related tasks or organizing materials.
  • Visual and Auditory Demands: Ability to visually review documents and reports, as well as monitor employee performance and wellbeing through meetings, observations, and discussions. Hearing and understanding verbal communication is essential for effective interaction with employees.
