Description Summary

The Payroll Specialist position will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll for all Bargaining employees. This role also acts as a customer service agent, assisting internal employees with payroll inquiries and document requests.

Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following

  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Collaborate with the payroll specialist team to ensure timely updates.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Understand proper taxation of employer-paid benefits.
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and comply with legal requirements.
  • Execute time and attendance processing using KeyStyle software.
  • Perform compliance tasks for unclaimed property payroll checks.
  • Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
  • Process manual checks and request stop payments.
  • Load and import files from other departments relevant to payroll (for all companies).
  • Research and respond to inquiries regarding items needing correction.
  • Weekly running, review, and disbursement of certified payroll.
  • Monthly processing of MER reports and Market Recovery reporting.
  • Monthly processing of OCIP reporting.
  • Weekly processing of Intents and Affidavits for L&I.
  • Weekly processing of employment claims.
  • Weekly processing of new hire packets.

Requirements

  • Ability to work successfully in a deadline-driven environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Viewpoint or similar payroll software experience, preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Union payroll experience highly preferred.
  • Construction payroll/office experience highly preferred.
  • Certified payroll experience highly preferred.

Benefits

Salary range for this position is $60,000-$65,000 annually. Opportunity for a discretionary year-end bonus. 401(k) with a 40% employer match (up to federal limit). For more information on our compensation package, see here.
