PAYROLL SPECIALIST

About the role

Payroll Specialist position located in St. Petersburg, 33702. This is a contract‑to‑hire role with 2‑3 openings. Initially onsite, with a work‑from‑home option on Monday and Friday after training (requires a designated workspace for 30+ days).

Responsibilities

• Process payroll by entering hours, new hires, rehires, deductions, and other wage‑related items while meeting client payroll deadlines.
• Maintain accurate electronic employee records, including new hire documentation, employee changes, and terminations.
• Troubleshoot payroll errors and resolve issues affecting payroll processing and federal, state, and local tax payments.
• Communicate payroll totals and funding requirements to clients while providing responsive customer service and escalating complex issues as needed.
• Assist clients with payroll system setup, payroll processing, website functionality, standard reporting, and custom report needs.

Requirements

• At least three (3) years of administrative and/or accounting experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required.
• Education verification required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree.

Skills

• PEO payroll processing (nice to have).

Pay

$19.00 - $23.00 per hour.

Schedule

Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
