POSITION SUMMARY The Payroll Specialist's responsibilities include collecting and reviewing employee information and working hours, calculating wages, preparing, and processing employee payments, and maintaining accurate payroll records. Responsible for accurately processing payroll for employees and contractors for 50 plus entities within the US and Canada. Understands the unique factors involved in processing payroll for multiple locations with diverse approvers and is part of the Finance Team. Reports to Payroll Director. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS Education & Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field required or a minimum of three (3) years’ progressive payroll equivalent experience. Licensure & Certifications: FPC or CCP is strongly preferredPrevious Experience: Strong knowledge of payroll laws and practices within the US. Knowledge of Canadian payroll laws is a benefit, but not required. Experience with computerized payroll processing is required.Skills: Proven track record in accurate payroll submission and a high level of attention to detail; basic accounting and reconciliations skills; good understanding of the taxation of employer paid benefits; excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to interpret complex payroll and tax information for non-financial people and; ability to remain flexible and work effectively under pressure in a team environmentTechnical Skills: Experience with computerized payroll processing is required. Proficiency with standard business software (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and using a laptop and mobile device is required. Constantly able to understand and relate to concepts behind specific ideas and theories behind several related concepts. Memory: Constantly able to remember tasks/assignments given to self and others during course of the day and over long periods of time. Communication: Constantly able to communicate verbally using advanced level vocabulary. Constantly able to communicate in written word, using checklists with simple sentences and using advanced written skills. Work Environment: Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available.Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. OSHA Classification Job Classification III: Position has no occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. JOB SPECIFIC EXPECTATIONSCoordinates with and assists CRH Anesthesia Operations team in entering and approving timesheets for providers: employees and contractors.Possess ownership of the payroll process to ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely, on bi-weekly basis, within Kronos and ADP Canada.Reconciles payroll to the general ledger and the recording of journal entries in the Company’s NetSuite Cloud Accounting system.Processes quarterly and year-end regulatory reporting when necessary (W-2, 1099 etc.).Collaborates with the Payroll Director to maintain and improve the Company’s payroll related filing system.Collaborates on and complies with procedures for both independent contractors and new employee hires regarding company onboarding and termination processes. Responds to employee and management inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns. Develops ad hoc reporting as needed.Other duties as assigned
