Job Summary

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for all employees, including salary, hourly, and contract staff, on a scheduled basis.
  • Verify and input accurate payroll data such as timekeeping records, overtime, and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain and update employee records related to payroll, benefits, and deductions.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management in a timely and professional manner.
  • Cook with payroll discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
  • Prepare and submit required payroll reports for management review.
  • Audit assistance by providing requested payroll information and documentation as needed.
  • Stay informed of legislative changes affecting payroll procedures, wage laws, and tax regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a union construction payroll environment with certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, FLSA, overtime, taxes, deductions and union dues reporting.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems, Viewpoint Vista highly preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to collaborate within a dynamic team environment and across departments.
  • Microsoft Excel and office software skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) credential.
  • Experience in multi-state or union payroll.
  • Experience with Certified Payroll is a plus.
  • Experience integrating payroll systems with HR and accounting platforms.
