Job Summary
Duties/Responsibilities
- Process payroll for all employees, including salary, hourly, and contract staff, on a scheduled basis.
- Verify and input accurate payroll data such as timekeeping records, overtime, and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and company policies.
- Maintain and update employee records related to payroll, benefits, and deductions.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management in a timely and professional manner.
- Cook with payroll discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
- Prepare and submit required payroll reports for management review.
- Audit assistance by providing requested payroll information and documentation as needed.
- Stay informed of legislative changes affecting payroll procedures, wage laws, and tax regulations.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a union construction payroll environment with certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, FLSA, overtime, taxes, deductions and union dues reporting.
- Proficiency with payroll systems, Viewpoint Vista highly preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to collaborate within a dynamic team environment and across departments.
- Microsoft Excel and office software skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) credential.
- Experience in multi-state or union payroll.
- Experience with Certified Payroll is a plus.
- Experience integrating payroll systems with HR and accounting platforms.
