Payroll Processing Analyst

About the role
We are expanding our Managed Services Team to include a Payroll Processing Analyst. In this role, you will work with the latest payroll technologies, support multiple clients’ payroll processing, and contribute to the growth of our AMS & BPO practice. Reporting to the Payroll Processing Manager, you’ll handle payroll processing, tax reporting, audits, and client support via calls, emails, and cases.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, process, oversee, and audit bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for multiple clients.
- Support client payroll inquiries via calls, emails, and cases.
- Review and ensure accuracy of timecards, deductions, and health insurance.
- Complete employer/employee requests and changes promptly, including issue resolution.
- Create, run, and distribute detailed reports (e.g., leave balances, overtime, retirement contributions).
- Reconcile monthly general ledger accounts related to payroll, including payroll tax, workers’ compensation, 401(k), and garnishments.
- Update payroll, system, and training manuals to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare monthly workers’ compensation reports in compliance with client scope of work.
- Prepare quarterly and annual payroll reports for federal and state authorities.
- Reconcile quarterly and annual payroll general ledger tax accounts.
- Reconcile all payroll general ledger accounts.
- Participate in Workers’ Compensation and Payroll Audits as needed.
- Process fiscal year-end reports and reconcile W-2 information for accuracy.
- Review payroll transactions to ensure accurate posting to the General Ledger.
- Document and update procedures to maximize efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrable experience in payroll processing (SAP ECP preferred).
- Customer service experience with the ability to resolve issues and create positive outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to formulate and communicate recommendations.
- Self-starter with a willingness to learn new areas and technologies.
- Collaborative and positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
- High integrity and trustworthiness.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Availability to work nights and weekends occasionally.
