What We'll Need
The Payroll Analyst plays a critical role in delivering an accurate, timely, and compliant payroll experience for Wingstop team members across the system. This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring all team members are paid correctly while maintaining strict adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Own and process end-to-end payroll for hourly and salaried corporate employees, both domestic and international, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Manage multi-state U.S. payroll, ensuring proper taxation and compliance across jurisdictions
- Validate payroll inputs including hours, earnings, deductions, and adjustments
- Support international payroll across multiple countries, partnering with in-country providers
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, statutory requirements, and payroll regulations
- Perform payroll audits and reconciliations, including period-over-period variance analysis and research of discrepancies
- Analyze payroll data to identify trends and resolve issues impacting net pay
- Maintain and execute payroll controls, including validation checks and audit procedures, to ensure accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation across payroll processes
- Maintain payroll records and support tax reporting and year-end processes
- Utilize Excel (e.g., XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP) to analyze payroll data, reconcile variances, and improve efficiency
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, and vendors to resolve payroll issues and support process improvements
What You’ll Need
- 4+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-location or high-volume environment
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent payroll experience
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
- Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, or similar platforms)
- Proficiency in Excel (e.g., XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP) and comfort working with large data sets
- Experience with payroll tools and reporting systems (e.g., HRIS, timekeeping systems)
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Able to manage deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to support employees and cross-functional partners
- Strong collaboration and customer-service mindset
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a plus
