Transdev in Pasadena, California is seeking a customer service-oriented professional dedicated to safety to assist with daily payroll functions.

About the role

This position supports the General Manager in all aspects of payroll processing, employee records, compliance, and benefits administration for drivers and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Process new employee files and records; submit paperwork to the regional accounting office for approval.
  • Calculate and input driver and staff payroll into the system; transmit payroll, verify paychecks, and monitor overtime.
  • Respond to employee questions and concerns regarding payroll, personnel records, and profiles via phone and email.
  • Track attendance, manage payroll and leaves of absence, including FMLA and Workers Comp tracking.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and records.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes for employees.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws (WO9).
  • Educate employees on benefits provided.
  • Prepare and submit HRIS profile and EAF employee change forms (new hires, rate changes, terminations).
  • Perform daily input and reconciliation of hourly employee vacation and sick leave accrual and usage.
  • Handle fare reconciliation and deposits.
  • Assist the General Manager in accurately tracking overtime to reduce unnecessary punch hours.
  • Perform special administrative projects and additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent oral, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in data input.
  • Ability to perform numerical detail work with speed and accuracy, including complex mathematical computations with or without mechanical assistance (e.g., touch calculator operation).
  • Computer literacy: 10 Key, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
  • Must pass a DOT drug test and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Physical Requirements

  • 90% of work is performed indoors in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities; 10% outdoors.
  • Performs physical activities requiring considerable use of arms, repetitive hand-wrist-eye and finger motion, and extensive computer work.
  • Ability to sit for long periods (up to 6–8 hours per day).
  • Limited light lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to push and pull objects up to 50 pounds occasionally throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching for files or equipment.
  • Must withstand heavy traffic areas, dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
