Responsibilities
- Manage weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing through UKG and ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness of runs
- Respond to questions from associates and managers regarding paychecks, direct deposit, W-2s, and/or general payroll questions
- Run and prepare reports on a regular basis for Payroll and other departments
- Prepare and administer payroll information for imports/exports from Core HR system and time keeping systems into UKG payroll for processing, assist with quality control and record maintenance to ensure accuracy, service quality and data integrity
- Manage audit checks to validate accuracy of payroll (pre check and post checks)
- Manage payroll check escheatment process and garnishment notifications
- Process special requests and off-cycle payroll checks as needed
- Oversee the company’s compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll and tax regulations as well as company policies and procedures
- Oversee the daily work activities and operations of a team offering feedback, coaching and development of effective team dynamics
- Able to manage routine associate performance issues (e.g. failure to meet objectives), partnering with HR
- Participate in special projects as assigned, including projects involving HCM HR and Finance, Benefits systems and payroll audits
- Absorb and support additional projects as assigned by Director of Payroll
Requirements
- Three to five years of payroll processing experience
- Strong technical background with UKG payroll system and Kronos timekeeping system, a plus
- Strong administrative skills, including attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational, prioritizing and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong focus to customer service, including the ability to work well with internal and external customers and vendors, as well as a commitment to meeting or exceeding customer expectations
- Strong excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, condition formulas
- Strong sense of business ethics, integrity, confidentiality and accountability
- Must be team-oriented, flexible and support the company’s values
