Responsibilities
- Lead regular and supplemental payroll processing, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on schedule.
- Review time records, earnings, deductions, tax withholdings, garnishments, and final payments to confirm accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain employee information across HR, payroll, benefits, and timekeeping platforms, preserving data consistency and appropriate controls.
- Administer key HR activities such as onboarding, offboarding, leave coordination, benefits support, and policy-related updates.
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, IT, and external providers to support payroll reporting, tax activity, reconciliations, and connected system processes.
- Conduct audits of payroll transactions, employee files, and HR procedures to identify discrepancies and uphold regulatory and company standards.
- Respond to employee and manager questions regarding compensation, benefits, leave programs, and workplace policies.
- Support year-end and periodic compliance activities, including reporting, documentation reviews, audit preparation, and required notices.
- Establish and monitor approval paths and documentation practices for employee status changes, pay updates, and terminations.
- Recommend and implement process improvements that strengthen efficiency, accuracy, recordkeeping, and compliance.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of progressive HR experience, including significant responsibility for payroll administration.
- Demonstrated experience processing full-cycle, multi-state payroll for a workforce of more than 500 employees.
- Hands-on proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and related payroll systems.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, wage and hour requirements, employment law, and HR operational best practices.
- Able to manage sensitive employee information with accuracy, discretion, and a high level of data integrity.
- Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
