About the role

The Payroll Lead Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience) is sought. Strong knowledge of payroll processing and bookkeeping principles, proficiency in payroll software, financial reporting, and Microsoft Office Applications are required.

Responsibilities

  • Processes payroll accurately and on time, ensuring proper deductions for taxes, pensions, social security, health insurance, life insurance and other salary withholdings.
  • Manages employee benefits, including annuities, workman's compensation insurance, health insurance and life insurance.
  • Deposits all collected revenue in a timely manner.
  • Affords assistance with insurance matters, including premium payments and claims processing.
  • Prepares and submits all payroll related tax forms, including quarterly and annual payroll tax reports.
  • Maintains accurate records of employee leaves and absences and manages the time and attendance tracking.
  • Prepares and distributes annual W-2 statements for all employees and submits required filings to the IRS.
  • Processes Affordable Care Act (ACA) hours tracking and reporting.
  • Processes employee payroll change requests, including updates to direct deposit, W-4 forms, address changes, and other payroll-related modifications.
  • Supports the Business Manager in preparing annual contracts to ensure accurate and timely compensation for all employees.
  • Reconciles Substitute hours to ensure prompt payment of substitute employees.
  • Acts as a primary resource for staff, addressing payroll and general human resource-related inquiries.
  • Prepares and processes payments to payroll vendors, including IPERS, American Fidelity and other third-party providers.
  • Operates as part of a dynamic team providing exceptional customer service and responsiveness to various stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
