Payroll/Human Resources Generalist
About the role
The Payroll/Human Resources Generalist supports the management team with payroll and other HR-related responsibilities. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Process new employee files & records and submit them to the General Manager for approval; submit appropriate paperwork to the regional office.
- Calculate & input driver & staff payroll into system for processing.
- Assist General Manager in accurately tracking, PTO, paid leaves, and overtime to reduce and eliminate unnecessary and/or additional punch hours.
- Manage driver & staff payroll and leaves of absence, including, employee FMLA tracking
- Educate employees on policies and benefits provided
- Support employees with internal and external transfer requests and procedures.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of Payroll/Accounting or Human Resources experience.
- College course work in a related field preferred.
- Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements
The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
- 100% of the job is performed indoors.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day).
- Push and pull objects up to 20 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 10 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.

Pay
Competitive compensation package of minimum $33.25/hr. – maximum $41.50/hr.
