We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll/HR Administrator to join a growing construction organization. This position plays a key role in delivering accurate weekly payroll while also supporting core human resources activities across the employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings hands-on payroll experience, strong knowledge of HR administration, and the ability to manage sensitive information with accuracy and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for both union and non-union employees, ensuring timely and accurate compensation.
- Audit time entries, pay rates, deductions, and employee updates to confirm payroll data is complete and correct before each cycle.
- Maintain payroll documentation, including benefit deductions, retirement contributions, garnishments, and accrual balances.
- Provide support for onboarding, employee benefits coordination, and leave administration.
- Organize and update personnel records to help maintain complete and compliant employee files.
- Assist with HR programs and administrative processes related to policies, performance reviews, and employment compliance requirements.
- Work across payroll, HR, and timekeeping platforms to keep employee information aligned and current.
- Prepare reports, perform reconciliations, and contribute to additional administrative assignments as business needs evolve.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in human resources administration.
- Minimum of 1 year of practical payroll processing experience.
- Prior experience handling union payroll is required.
- Solid understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to use formulas and pivot tables.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with payroll or HR systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Paycom, or NexGen is preferred.
- Background supporting multi-state payroll and open enrollment activities is a plus.
