Job Overview
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and oversee the end-to-end payroll process for all employees across our North American operations.
- Ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll, including salaries, benefits, taxes, garnishments, and other deductions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure robust internal controls.
- Guarantee compliance with all US federal, state, and local payroll and tax regulations.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of all payroll-related reports, tax filings, and year-end statements.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the payroll team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for complex payroll queries and escalations, providing expert guidance and resolution.
- Collaborate closely with the HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless data integration and alignment on compensation and benefits administration.
- Lead projects related to payroll system upgrades, implementations, and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Extensive proven experience as a Payroll Director or in a similar senior payroll management capacity.
- In-depth, expert knowledge of US payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrable experience managing complex, multi-state payroll for a large organization.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- Exceptional numerical and analytical skills, combined with meticulous attention to detail.
- High proficiency in using modern payroll software and HRIS systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Professional certification (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional - CPP) is considered a significant asset.
